According to this report the population of Triora has decreased more than 8 times in the past 140 years. Although there are people (like me, for example) who still moves in here, the town as a whole is dying.

Today is Ferragosto day, the top of summer holidays. Lots and lots and lots of people around, inspite of the foggy weather. 160 people booked lunch at Colomba d’Oro - incredible. This lunch has a fixed price - 30 euro per person! Very expensive for Triora.

Well, what we can do around?

• Andagna: sagra del brasato at 20:30 (as far as I know, it’s meat cooked in oven for a long time), and then live music at 21:30
• Badalucco: live music at 19:00 (Piazza Marconi) with “Activa Band”
• Carpasio: festival of kites
• Ceriana: dancing on the favour of Red Cross
• Montalto: Irene Veneziano plays piano at 21:00
• Pompeiana: sagra of gnocchi (little potato ravioli)
• Realdo: game of square ball (sic!) at 14:00 and then at 21:00 dancing with “Sonora”

• Andagna: sagra dell’asago. The matter is that I don’t have a slightest idea what the hell is asago, neither does google.com or my Italian husband. I’m tempted to drive there only to get the translation
• Badalucco: live music (”I Mama Funk” and “Skary Band”… maybe they meant “scary”?). 19:30, Piazza Marconi
• Perinaldo: observations of Jupiter and stars. 21:30, observatory

This is a small waterfall on the way to St.Catherine. Very fresh and cool water.

• Realdo: 21:30 “Bruti e Boi” (”Bad and Good Ones”) - a rather popular group that plays traditional Ligurian music

Worst sausage ever. Ate it 2 hours ago in Boschetto. Yes, Triora IS Caput Mundi, but it doesn’t mean you should eat sausages here. Though they seem to be quite popular.
